June’s State of Play Could Feature Final Fantasy XVI, Street Fighter 6 and Resident Evil

PlayStation’s State of Play will show off third party updates and a glimpse of several PSVR2 titles
by Joe Wilcock on May 28, 2022

The latest edition of Sony’s PlayStation State of Play will air next week on June 2nd at 3pm (PT). According to reports, we could be in store for updates on Final Fantasy XVI, Final Fantasy VII 25th anniversary, Street Fighter 6, Resident Evil 8 DLC and the Resident Evil 4 Remake.

To add to an already packed showcase, several PSVR2 projects will be shown off too. There is a lot to get through considering that the event is supposedly only 30 minutes long, but Sony is usually very concise with their State of Play events.

“It’s been more than two months since our last State of Play – who’s ready for a new one? Tune in live next Thursday, June 2 for nearly 30 minutes of announcements and updates from the world of PlayStation.

We’ll have some exciting reveals from our third-party partners, plus a sneak peek at several games in development for PlayStation VR2. Watch over at Twitch or on YouTube starting 3pm Pacific / 6pm Eastern / 12:00am CET.”

- Brett Elston, Sony Senior Manager, Content Communications, SIE

With the omission of E3 this year, Sony must pick up the pieces alongside various other gaming events. The Xbox/Bethesda showcase will premier a week later which is sure to bring with it their own reveals and announcements.
